Round Two of Malloy v. Jindal Starts on Twitter

An argument between Gov. Bobby Jindal, R-La. and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, which began steps from the White House, took to Twitter and cable news Tuesday, following Jindal's assessment of President Barack Obama's hope to raise the minimum wage as creating an American "minimum-wage economy." Jindal made the comment at a press conference Monday, where members of the National Governor's Association stood to brief reporters on their series of meetings at the White House throughout the weekend. Malloy quickly took to the mic after Jindal's comments—prompting another rebuff from Jindal.  But apparently that back and forth wasn't enough for either governor, who both then spoke on the issues with cable news and directly at each other on Twitter....

A news conference meant to brief reporters on bipartisan talks between the nation’s governors and President Barack Obama disintegrated into partisan squabbling Monday, with Gov. Dannel P. Malloy jumping into the fray to push back against Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

An act being discussed by the General Assembly to support an multi-state pact to elect the president by a national vote gained the support of Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman Monday.

Reports: FBI Investigating House Republicans Relationship with Direct Mail Company

The Chief of Staff for House Republicans George Gallo resigned abruptly Thursday, admitting he was a person of interest in a federal probe into Republican legislators using the services of a direct mail company in Florida, multiple media outlets reported. The FBI appears to be investigating whether candidates were steered to use the firm Direct Mail Systems, and if there were any kickbacks. In a statement, House minority leader Larry Cafero, R-Norwalk, said he and other lawmakers were cooperating fully with the investigation. Here’s what has been reported so far: -          Kevin Rennie’s Daily Ructions Blog first broke news of the FBI investigation and subpoena of republican leaders. Gallo apparently resigned later...
