Great Dining Deals During Stamford Restaurant Weeks; Bethel & Wilton Up Next

Here’s the temptation of Stamford Restaurant Weeks 2014, launching on Presidents’ Day (Feb. 17) and running through March 3, as synthesized into a peek at options on the special three-course dinner menu at the hotspot Bar Rosso.

Start with seared scallops, with micro arugula, grilled pineapple, citrus and soy vinegarette, or beef tenderloin carpaccio with Worchesterchire mayo, white truffle oil and shaved Grana Padano (shown below)—or aged prosciutto with imported burrata cheese.

Move on to homemade pappardelle with braised leg of lamb, black olives, rosemary and tomato sauce, grilled bone-in ribeye steak with stewed Tuscan-style butter beans, or mahi mahi with fish broth, cherry tomatoes and olive-oil whipped potatoes.

Finish with chocolate mousse or hazelnut shortbread.

And enjoy a triple-play combination from among those dishes for just $30.14—and, families take note, Bar Rosso even offers a kids’ menu at $9.95 … and it’s just one of more than 30 great restaurants participating in the winter-warmer promotion that has some places offering three-course lunches for as little as $10.14 and dinners from $15.14.

How can you beat that?

Answer: You can’t.

So find a reason to be in Stamford while the restaurant weeks are on and partake in the bounty being offered in one of Connecticut’s true epicenters of fining dining.

"The prices for lunch range from $10.14, $12.14 or $20.14, and dinner ranges from $15.14, $20.14 or $30.14, so you can return to some of your favorite restaurants and try some new ones," the Connecticut Restaurant Week website explains, adding, “New this year: each participating restaurant will be mixing up its very own Signature Winter Cocktail to be featured during Restaurant Weeks.”
