Community Table's Viehland, Millwright's Anderson Up for Beard Foundation Awards

Two of Connecticut's hottest young chefs, Joel Viehland of Community table (Ct) in Washington and Tyler Anderson of Millwright's in Simsbury, are among the semifinalists for James Beard Foundation awards in the Best Chef: Northeast category, an honor first reported by ctnow.com.
"This morning we announced the semifinalists for our 2014 Restaurant and Chef Award categories, from Outstanding Restaurant to Rising Star Chef of the Year. Our announcement took place in Orlando, one of Florida's burgeoning culinary hubs," the Beard Foundation said in announcing the awards. " ... And don't forget: we'll announce the final Restaurant and Chef Award nominations, as well as the nominations for our Book, Journalism, Broadcast, and Restaurant Design Awards, at the Publican in Chicago on Wednesday, March 19." The 2014 James Beard Awards will be held in New York City on May 2 and 5.
