What if you could get a cooking lesson at Bernard’s, one of Connecticut’s best restaurants, then turn around and eat the dinner you just made in the sumptuous dining room? Well, you can do just that on Jan. 17, at 6:30, when chefs extraordinaire Sarah and Bernard Bouissou demonstrate how to prepare a four-course romantic dinner for two (or more).
On the menu are an hors d’oeuvre of smoked salmon with caviar; tuna tartare napoleon with grape tomatoes, avocado and hearts of palm; and pancetta-wrapped filet mignon served over truffle-mashed potatoes. The coup de grace is a chocolate soufflé tart with Kahlua whipped cream. The price: $75 per person.
Sarah Bouissou says the evening has been a popular event in years past. “We’ve gotten singles, groups of girlfriends, couples—it’s a lot of fun.”
