The Return of Soupstock

This Saturday June 9 is the annual Soupstock Music and Arts Festival on The Slab alongside the Housatonic River in downtown Shelton, the annual fundraising event organized (and sponsored by) our friends Fred and Michelle Bialek over at Liquid Lunch. The event benefits The Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund, which supports "creative outlets and career paths to kids and young adults in music, the arts and artisan craft" by providing funding for classes, apprenticeships and scholarships.

As in the past, Soupstock will be a busy day with a number of family-friendly events—in addition to the great soup, of course.

Among the featured activities: The amateur/pro soup cook-off, open to all and decided by Soupstock visitors who, for a donation to the Turtle Shell Fund, get to sample all the entires and vote on the soup that they think is the best; live music with two stages and 17 different acts performing throughout the day; arts and crafts vendors; and plenty of kids activities, including a bounce house.

For more info, including a full list of events and musical acts, visit soupstockfestival.org.
