A Beer Garden . . . in Westport?
This Saturday, you can sample many of the best micro and craft beers around at a Biergarten on the Green in downtown Westport. It’s part of the three-day Westport Foodie Fest put on by the Westport Downtown Merchants Association. Guests will get a complimentary tasting mug and Oktoberfest-inspired lunch, along with the chance to catch celebrity chef/author Ian Knauer as he prepares delicious beer-infused bites for tasting and provides tips on how to include farm-fresh ingredients—and beer—in your own cooking. (A former food editor at Gourmet Magazine, Knauer is the author of The Farm: Rustic Recipes for a Year of Incredible Food, which came out earlier this year.) The Zany Oopah Band will be on hand for entertainment.
Organizers ask that you please bring along a food donation for the Westport Farmers Market food drive to benefit the Gillespie Center's Homes with Hope program.
Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 day-of, children admitted free. Hours: 1-4 p.m. Veteran’s Green, Myrtle Ave., Westport. For info, go to westportfoodiefest.com.A Beer Garden . . . in Westport?
