Celebrate Fine Art, Food and Wine

It’s not every day you have the chance to savor great works of art, great food and great wine all in the same evening. But you can do just that at The Art of Wine & Food event next Tuesday at the New Britain Museum of American Art.

Three of Connecticut’s best-loved chefs—Noel Jones, Billy Grant and Chris Prosperi—honorary hosts of the evening—will be displaying their culinary artistry alongside top toques Sean Farrell of Firebox, James Wishneski of Tisane and Feng’s Jared Calderone in Hartford; Nick Mancini of La Tavola in Waterbury; Lynn Mansel of Mohegan Sun; Ryan Jones of the Mill at 2T in Simsbury, and Michael Ma of Toshi Japanese Restaurant in Avon. And many more! Over a dozen wine portfolios will be represented.

So you'll be able to pick up some food, grab a glass of vino, then walk and gawk—through rooms aglow with works by artists as various Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Thomas Hart Benton, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keefe, Robert Motherwell, Andy Warhol, Lee Krasner and Christo. To name a few.

All funds raised will benefit the NBMAA’s Family and Children’s Educational Programs, helping to provide free tours for students, preserve low fees for art studio classes and underwrite weekly after-school programs open to at-risk youth—so this is a win-win-win.
