Fantasy of Lights Illuminates the Holidays

Fantasy of Lights Illuminates the Holidays

New Haven’s Lighthouse Point Park has been transformed into The Fantasy of Lights holiday wonderland. Easter Seals Goodwill Industries’ annual production features 60 themed light displays, including 30 animated vignettes, set up along a sparkling one-mile span. More than 100,000 light bulbs were required in total, and this year 21 displays have gone green by using LED bulbs.

Drive through the illuminated archway and pass by a Nativity scene, a teddy bear snowball toss, rocking tugboats, a beaming carousel and a 75-foot-tall lighthouse that can been seen for miles.

Local businesses, organizations and individuals sponsor the displays, and a team of dedicated volunteers greets holiday revelers each night.

All the proceeds from the Fantasy of Lights supports Easter Seals Goodwill mission to “enhance employment, educational, social and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and other challenges.”

  Hours: Sun. thru Thurs. 5-9 p.m., Fri. & Sat. 5-10 p.m.

Admission: Car/Family van $10; mini bus $25, full size bus $50.
