Talk About Ambitious!

Sometimes it's nice to escape from the holiday scene into an absorbing museum exhibit.

You'll be able to do exactly that starting this week, as an extensive new interactive exhibit—“Making Connecticut”—opens at the Connecticut Historical Society in Hartford. The time line they've put together chronicles nothing less than the evolution of civilization in the Nutmeg State, from its beginnings as Native American Quinnetukut all the way up to the present day.

Hundreds of artifacts are included in the displays, including vintage posters such as “Women Work for Victory,” part of a 1942-44 campaign to rally women to war work. There’s also a complete 1980s kitchen.

It’ll be left up to you to decide where we went right, where we went wrong and where we stand today.
