The weather looks like it will be beautiful, the local crops are coming in - it should be a great weekend for taking in a farmers' market or two.

The markets have become a staple across Connecticut, of course, and you probably know the times and locations for the ones in your neck of the woods. But there are some markets where, along with fresh food and produce, you can take in a history lesson as well.

Two of the best: The Green Market at the Bush-Holley Historic Site in Greenwich convenes Tues. 9-3 and Fri. noon-6 and offers cut flowers, local honey and also the occasional celebrity chef and author; the Coventry Regional Farmers' Market is open Sun. 11-2 at the Nathan Hale Homestead and has fresh pies, soaps and crafts by local artisans and live music.
