Tucked away in the Quiet Corner of the state is a half-mile oval that has been home to racing action—horse, then automobiles—for 142 years. Welcome to Stafford Motor Speedway.

Since it was built in 1870, the track has been drawing race aficionados from across the region, offering a unique opportunity to watch the action in a rural setting. The track was dirt until 1967 when it was paved, but unlike many other tracks, it doesn't have highly banked turns, which makes the racing more about control than speed.

Although there has been all sorts of racing over the decades, the main attractions now are NASCAR SK modified and late model racing. Most races are on Friday nights, although there are other events throughout the season.

This weekend July 30 & 31, the track welcomes the Advance Auto Parts "Monster Jam," featuring all the ground-pounding traction action of monster trucks!!! That means the legendary Grave Digger, as well as other monster-wheeled favorites as well as freestyle motorcross, pro arena truck racing and quad wars, both on Saturday and Sunday, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!! Be there! Be there! Be there!
