It's That Time of Year

It’s getting to be that time of year. How can we tell? Because tonight’s the opening reception (5-8) of the Guilford Art Center’s Artistry Holiday Sale of Fine Craft & Art, that’s how. The sale goes on for more than two months (through Jan. 8), and if you haven’t been in the past, well this is only one of the best holiday shopping opportunities around. If you’re looking for wonderful one-of-a-kind handmade gifts, that is. Hundreds of artists from across the country will be represented at the annual event, with ceramics, glass, candles, jewelry, fiber, ornaments, stationery, leather goods, toys and more.

Connecticut artists will be strongly represented and there will be many works by Guilford Art Center students and professors. All proceeds from the event benefit the exhibiting artists and Guilford Art Center’s educational and community programs.

The opening reception tonight (Nov. 4) is from 5-8. Thereafter the hours are as follows: Monday through Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10-6, Thursday 10-8, Sunday 12-5. Thursday, Dec. 1, is Jewelry & Champagne Day.

Guilford Art Center, 411 Church St., Guilford, 203/453-5947, shop@guilfordartcenter.org.
