Taste of the Nation Hartford on Apr. 11

 

Hartford’s culinary community will be pulling out all the stops to combat childhood hunger at Taste of the Nation Hartford next week. Sponsored by Share Our Strength, the gala event (CE.Strength.org/Hartford) takes place on Thursday, April 11, at Marquee Events & Catering on Main Street, from 6 to 9. 

Chefs and mixologists from of the area’s best restaurants will be making culinary magic for the evening. Participants include Max Restaurant Group, Millwright’s Tavern, ON20, Marquee Events and Catering, Plan B Burger Bar, Grants, Restaurant Bricco, Bricco Trattoria, Peppercorns Grill and Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant.

Funds raised at the event will go to support SOS’s No Kid Hungry campaign, which aims to ensure that all children get the healthy food they need every day,

“As a chef, I know the important role food plays in each of our lives—especially in the life of a child says event co-chair and restaurateur Billy Grant Billy Grant, “so I can’t stand the fact that nearly one in five kids in Connecticut don’t always have the healthy food they need”

“I’m proud to be a part of this campaign,” he adds. “Together, we can make No Kid Hungry a reality.”

Grant is the chef/owner of Grants and Restaurant Bricco in West Hartford, and Bricco Trattoria in Glastonbury.

100 percent of ticket proceeds go to the national No Kid Hungry campaign, as well as local grantees including the No Kid Hungry Connecticut Campaign, Foodshare, Hartford Food System and End Hunger Connecticut!
