Feb 16, 2013 to Mar 30, 2013
An exhibition of artwork by students of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts is on display in the College’s Chauncey Stillman Gallery, through Saturday, March 30. This juried exhibition showcases the best current work done by students in all of the College’s major programs. “We have an exceptionally talented student body that is moving through a rigorous program of study,” comments Lyme Academy College President Scott Colley, “This show is a wonderful opportunity to see both the curriculum made visible, and how the students’ talent is cultivated throughout their four years here.”
Some 85 works were selected for inclusion into the exhibition out of an entry pool of over 160 pieces. The majority of works are for sale. “This exhibition is appreciated by the community not only for its content, but also for its purchasing opportunities,” says Sally Seaman, the College’s Interim Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The College welcomes the public to view this exhibition and see the progression of skill and creativity from students in all four of the College’s major programs of Drawing, Painting, Illustration, and Sculpture, including student pieces from the first-year Foundation program. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Entry to the exhibition is free and open to the public.
The College gratefully acknowledges the generous support of Leon and Bernadette Olivier, Outthink, Sennheiser Electronic Corporation and Shepherd, Finkelman, Miller and Shah, LLP for this exhibition.
