Don’t miss this once-a-year, magical event! The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception under a beautiful tent on Washington Green. The reception will include live and silent auctions, with all proceeds benefiting ASAP. Afterward, guests will proceed across the lawn to the historic First Congregational Church, where they will be treated to readings of poetry and prose written by talented young writers from our area. Featured readers will include Frank Delaney, Paul Doherty, Mia Farrow, Jack Gilpin, Fran Brill Kelly, Audrey Meyer, and Ellen McCourt. The night will conclude with The Frank McCourt Prize for Excellence in Teaching being awarded to an exceptional local educator.
The annual Celebration of Young Writers was inspired by ASAP’s passion to encourage children’s creativity and imagination in the literary arts. This year’s event is in honor of ASAP’s Chairman Emeritus John Millington.
