Mention the Wild Weeds and/or NRBQ and thoughts of Big Al Anderson ( singer/guitarist/songwriter ) will be what immediately pops into the minds of most music fans. And yes, Big Al returns to Connecticut with a band of renegades for this first time ever performance on the Infinity stage. Get your tickets early ‘cause we’re betting they’re gonna go quickly.
Al Anderson has in recent years emerged as one of Nashville's most dependable tunesmiths, churning out an impressive string of irresistibly catchy, organically gritty hits for the likes of The Mavericks ("All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down"), Trisha Yearwood ("Powerful Thing"), LeAnn Rimes ("Big Deal"), Diamond Rio ("Unbelievable"), Carlene Carter ("Every Little Thing") and Hal Ketchum ("Fall In Love Again"). In 2012 Anderson had chart topping success with his No. 1 George Strait single “Love’s Gonna Make it Alright”. In addition to his radio hit, Anderson also formed a new band, the World Famous Headliners, clad with fellow hit songwriters Shawn Camp and Pat McLaughlin. Their debut album had steady radio airplay ( six weeks in the top 20) in the Americana genre and garnered multiple raving reviews from The Associated Press and LA Times. Big Al has played as well as co-written with longtime friend Bonnie Raitt; her current album Slipstream boasts three tracks written by Al. Indeed, Anderson's compositions have been recorded by an impressively broad array of acts, including Tim McGraw, Alabama, Wynonna, Deana Carter, Lonestar, Shenandoah, Jerry Lee Lewis, Aaron Tippin, Neal McCoy, Asleep at the Wheel, Etta James, K.T. Oslin, Sara Evans, Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker, Chris LeDoux, Deborah Allen, Ty England, Sammy Kershaw, Billy Ray Cyrus, Confederate Railroad, T. Graham Brown, Joe Diffie, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Neal McCoy, Rhonda Vincent, Stacy Dean Campbell, Lari White, Jason Sellers, Robbie Fulks and Olivia Newton-John.
