CitySingers of Hartford will warm listeners in the flame of Celtic Fire on Saturday, March 16 at the First Congregational Church in Amherst, MA. Captivating melodies and poetic expression from the Celtic soul explore these ancient roots in chant and folk airs. Hear musical settings by Turlough O'Carolan, Sean O'Riada, Michael McGlynn and other celebrated heraldors. Highland pipes, Irish harp, wooden flute, guitar, fiddle, concertina, bodhrán, pipe organ and double bass will add traditional color and style. Through the darkest times in history, the Celts have kindled a flame of individuality and imagination rooted in nature, an exceptional gift of poetry and melody, and a spiritual approach to life.
