| Description |
First Friday features live jazz music performed by local and nationally known musicians. Attendees have the opportunity to view the Museum’s premier permanent collection, which includes 300 years of American art. Ignite a passion for life-drawing at Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School drawing extravaganza taking place in the William and Bette Batchelor Gallery. As the innovator of alternative drawing, Dr. Sketchy's presents a totally novel opportunity for artists of any experience level to hone their drawing skills with the aid of charming burlesque-style model, Lily la Vamp. In the lobby we will have Trunk Show artist Kim Woodruff selling her beautiful handmade scarves. Lovers of authentic jazz will be immersed in the tradition of the genre's masters when they enjoy the music of jazz vocalist Giacomo Gates. Accompanied by pianist Kent Hewitt, Gates combines traditional techniques with contemporary lyrical stylings. |
