Songs of the Sea: The Lesser Known World of Shanties and Focsle Songs will follow the Maritime Inspired Art reception at Brecknock Hall on Oct. 18 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Frank Hendricks, a member of Stout and the New York Packet, has been singing sea shanties at South Street Seaport since the 1970s. He will perform shanties and will discuss their meaning and usage by sailors aboard ship. Donations will be accepted for this presentation that is part of the East End Arts Third Thursday Series.
