The Willimantic Orchestra, a community based orchestra, conducted by David Vaughan, will present a free concert featuring Jeanne Pocius on trumpet. The program for this concert will include: Ludovic Lamothe, Danza No. 3; Michael Haydn, Trumpet Concerto No.2 in D; Julio Racine, Trois Feuille for Trumpet and String Orchestra; F. Laguerre, Conte Haitien and Un sèl badjo, mi-an, mi-an; Beethoven, Egmont Overture; Saint-Saens, Bacchanale from Samson & Delilah; Anderson, Bugler’s Holiday. Jeanne Gabriel Pocius, our guest trumpeter, lives, teaches and performs in the greater Boston, Massachusetts area. She is also the director and founder of Instrumental Change, a charitable corporation dedicated to musically enriched educational environments within economically challenged areas. Their first area of empowerment is the Caribbean nation of Haiti The Willimantic Orchestra is a non-profit community orchestra affiliated with the Music Program at Eastern Connecticut State University and dedicated to the performance of authentic orchestral music. Members of the orchestra come a wide variety of walks of life, and live in communities across Eastern and Central Connecticut.
