DR. JONATHAN GRAUER specializes in spine care at Yale Orthopaedics, where he is an associate professor and co-director of the orthopaedic spine service. He graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University (Phi Beta Kappa) and cum laude from the Yale School of Medicine (Alpha Omega Alpha). He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital and his fellowship in spine surgery at Thomas Jefferson University’s Rothman Institute. He has been published prolifically in medical journals and textbooks.
Dr. Grauer treats patients of all ages who have various spinal conditions including disc and degenerative problems, acute injuries, cancer, scoliosis and neurological deficits. Treatment must be “patient-specific and targeted,” he says, to help sufferers achieve active, pain-free lifestyles. “Surgery is often a last option, but may be a very helpful for certain problems or if other treatments have not been successful,” he adds.
