DR. AMY KNORR, a Cornell graduate, earned a Ph.D. in neuropharmacology from Yale University before getting her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in neurology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and also did a fellowship at Yale in neurophysiology “to investigate and diagnose neuromuscular and seizure disorders.”
Dr. Knorr, who is board-certified, notes that “neurological problems are so specific to the individual.” She and her colleagues at Neurology Associates of Norwalk see patients without having physician’s assistants screen them first. “It’s important to take the time to understand patients and what they’re trying to tell you,” she says. Her transition from research to clinical practice reflects her determination to resolve problems using the latest treatments, such as Botox® injections for migraines. “I feel that there’s always an answer,” she says. “It may not be the first thing I try, but I think I can always find a solution.”
