DR. HUGH CAREY and DR. JONI HANSSON are nephrologists at Metabolism Associates, a kidney specialty group that treats patients with all types of kidney disorders, including chronic kidney disease, glomerular and tubulointerstitial disorders, hypertension, kidney stones, electrolyte disorders and pre/post kidney transplantation care. They also offer state- of-the-art options for renal replacement therapy. The group is active in clinical research, and runs the well-established Nephrology Fellowship Program at the Hospital of Saint Raphael. Dr. Carey graduated from Emory University and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his medical residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and his nephrology fellowship at the Hospital of Saint Raphael. He is the Metabolism Associates site director for Yale medical students and residents rotating through the practice. Dr. Hansson graduated from the UConn School of Pharmacy and Yale School of Medicine, and completed her residency and nephrology fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She is the director of the Nephrology Fellowship Program at the Hospital of Saint Raphael.
