Dr. Mark B. Taylor is a board-certified gastroenterologist who has practiced in the New Haven area for 23 years. He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his gastroenterology training at Harvard’s Beth Israel Hospital. He is editor-in-chief of two major gastrointestinal textbooks and has been selected as a Connecticut “Top Doc” for the past 17 years.
Dr. Taylor is one of the founders and managing partners of Gastroenterology Center of Connecticut. GCC opened the first freestanding endoscopy suite in Connecticut in 1998, located in Hamden. An additional endoscopy center opened in Guilford; both state-of-the-art-centers use new high-definition equipment with anesthesia for pain-free procedures. In addition to endoscopy, Dr. Taylor has overseen the implementation of technological innovations including capsule endoscopy and breath testing.
In 2010 he spearheaded a charitable effort whereby GCC physicians provided free colonoscopies to dozens of patients who could not afford the procedure due to loss of jobs or insurance. This has been a great success and is being offered again this year.
When Dr. Taylor established the group more than 14 years ago, there were three doctors and eight employees. GCC has grown to include 14 specialty-trained gastroenterologists, a pathologist, a dietician, 10 physician assistants/nurse practitioners and more than 110 supporting staff members. In addition to colon cancer screening, GCC offers expert consultative services and treatments for virtually all gastrointestinal, pancreatic and liver conditions and has a very active research division conducting studies in ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and liver disease.
Major renovations are under way at GCC, with an emphasis on continuing the commitment to patient-centered service. Recent upgrades in the electronic medical- record system will further improve the ability to communicate with other physicians, enhance medical information accuracy and confidentiality, and allow prescriptions to be sent to virtually any pharmacy instantly.
Dr. Taylor says he is blessed to work with such a wonderful and compassionate staff, committed to providing “sophisticated medical care, close to home, in a warm and caring environment.”

I'm glad to see no. 7 is Dr Cohen. In my opinion he's no 1 but I have no way of judging the top 6. He operated on me in 2001 because I was high risk of getting colon cancer it was felt. I'm still here 11 years later doc! I'm fine w/respect to the surgery but do have an issue with a lumbar bone out of place and am dealing w/that now. Things are much better since I had the two Epidural shots. I get the third tommorow. You go Dr. Cohen!

I had a breast reduction last year, Dr. Smith performed the surgery. I am so happy with the results he is a great physician and surgeon he takes the extra time to ask you what your expectations are and is also very open about what to expect after surgery.

Dr. Gary Price has gone above and beyond his call of duty . I have had several procedures done by him and wouldn't think of going to anyone else. He has done a complete face lift on me. Several laser treatments and a couple of touch up mini lifts. I'm considering having liposuction by him. If anyone out there is considering cosmetic work done you should definitely have a consultation with Gary Price.
A grateful and satisfied patient

Dr Gerstenhaber is the BEST Pulmonary
Doctor in the New Haven area. He is extremely smart and knows more than his specialty.
He is kind and compassionate and has a wonderful way of appropriately infusing humor into what can be
a tense situation...
I commend him for his tremendous work ethic and feel so grateful that he cared for each of my parents and now myself.
I can only say thank you for always being so available to us.

Dr. Neil Floch and the staff of Fairfield County Bariatrics have afforded me a second chance for a more active and healthier life. In June of 2011 at 68 yrs old Dr. Neil performed RNY Gastric Bypass at Norwalk Hospital and as of 10 mos post op I have lost 102 lbs and gain a second chance to enjoy life more fully. I left the hospital completely offm of the three type 2 diabetes meds I had been on for 12+ years. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Floch and Fairfield County Bariatrics and fully endorse the excellent level of care that I experienced both pre and post op and would urge anyone considering wls to them.
