DR. JOHN MCHUGH specializes in foot care for people of all ages. A graduate of the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine, he is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Podiatric Primary Care. He believes podiatry allows him to use various disciplines of medicine including pediatrics, geriatrics, dermatology and orthopedics. He gives the best possible care by combining his years of experience in these areas with training in the latest treatments available. He is proud of being friendly and available to patients, listening carefully and keeping waiting time to a minimum. “We try to do surgery as a last resort,” he says. One of the newer treatments he uses is NeuroTherm, an insurance-covered modality to alleviate heel pain and neuromas. With NeuroTherm, the area is numbed and a needle is inserted to send radiofrequency to desensitize pain. When not practicing medicine, Dr. McHugh serves as president of the Rotary Club.
