\n\n ) On Wednesday\, December 5\, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.\, Our Lady o f Calvary Retreat Center presents an Advent program featuring pianist Lesl ie Merwin and the Voices of St. Cecilia\, comprised of singers from the ch oirs of Sacred Heart Church\, East Berlin\, St. Vincent Ferrer\, Naugatuck \, St. Thomas the Apostle\, Oxford and St. Mary Magdalen Oakville. The ev ent will include choral anthems and piano solos reflective of the Advent s eason.
\n\n Leslie Merwin is the Direct or of Music at Sacred Heart Church. She holds a Master of Music degree in Piano from Julliard and a License de Concert from the Ecole Normale de Mu sique in Paris. She has appeared as soloist with the New Haven Symphony a nd in concerts throughout the United States and Europe. She was awarded t he Debussy Prize of the Alliance Francaise of New York and awards from You ng Concert Artists and the Comite Roussel. She is also a registered nurse and the Director of Nursing at Village Crest Center for Rehabilitation an d Health in New Milford\, CT.
