DESCRIPTION:<p>\n	Join Instructor Jeremy Davis on Thursday afternoons to sc
 ulpt the portrait from life. Jeremy will guide students to first perfect t
 he profile\, and then learn to place key landmarks. By training the eye in
  this way\, the student will see and understand the rhythms\, forms\, and 
 construction of the head\; then work toward achieving a likeness which ref
 lects the character of the model posing. Throughout the course students wi
 ll be encouraged to develop their own interpretation of the model through 
 a pose of the head and its expression. All levels welcome.</p>\n<p>\n	<str

  </strong>Originally from Texas\, Jeremy pursued a self-led art program fo
 r several years while working in a bronze foundry. In 2001\, he began stud
 ying at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts\, and earned a bachelors deg
 ree. In January 2005\, Jeremy won an Award of Distinction at the National 
 Arts Club 29th Annual Student Exhibition in New York City. Upon graduation
  in May 2005\, he was awarded Excellence in Sculpture by the Lyme Academy 
 and received a fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson\, Vermon
 t. Jeremy then competed in the National Sculpture Society&#39\;s 2005 Nati
 onal Figure Competition and won the first-place prize\, the Walter &amp\; 
 Michael Lantz Prize\, as well as the Roger T. Williams Prize for Excellenc
 e in Representational Sculpture and the Gloria Medal for Outstanding Body 
 of Work. In June\, 2009 Jeremy was named Runner-Up in the Art vs. Design E
 xhibition located at the New Museum\, SoHo\, New York. His work can be fou
 nd in private collections around the country and has been shown publicly i
 n New York\, Boston\, South Carolina\, and Connecticut.</p>\n\n\n90 Lyme S
