\n The Gallery at Firehouse SquarE is presenting a one-woman show featuring works by Shelton\, Connecticut resident Jill Harrington Ni chols from January 31st through March 4th with an opening reception on Thu rsday\, February 7th from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.

\n\n Nichol s\, a native of Fairfield\, Connecticut\, spent countless days at the beac h\, sailing at Black Rock and walking the bridal trails instilled in her a deep appreciation of the natural beauty and wonder of the area. Her fine art training includes the Art Student League in New York City\, Silvermin e Guild in New Canaan\, Old Lyme Academy and Gallery 53 in Connecticut. Sh e has been privileged to study under many noted artists that have helped f orm a firm foundation for her paintings. Her first oil painting was of th e view from her long-awaited sailboat in Black Rock Harbor\, which include d Fayerweather Lighthouse.

\n\n Most recently\, Jill c ompleted an 18-hole indoor mini-golf attraction\, 'The Pirates of Fortune and Perils of the Deep\,' at the Batting Cage in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. The course features ten murals\; two that were inspired by th e illustrations of N.C. Wyeth while the other eight are all black light sc enes that Jill first conceived and composed in Photoshop.
