\n\n The region&rsquo\;s biggest annual you th art exhibition\, Young at Art is back at Mystic Arts Center.\n
\n Young at Art will showcase creative work from hundreds of regional students ages 18 and younger in Mystic Arts Center&rsquo\;s ga lleries. Come see original artwork in a variety of media from oil\, photog raphy\, and sculpture to mixed media pieces. Submissions will come from al l over New London County and Rhode Island with many group projects from ar ea schools displayed.
\n\n Award certificates are given for 1st\, 2n d 3rd place\, honorable mentions and an award for the Lil Maxwell Awar d for Creativity in three grade categories\; K-4\, 5-8\, and 9-12 wit h prizes for 2-D and 3-D pieces in each. First place awards include gift c ertificates towards Mystic Arts Center&rsquo\;s art classes sponsored by D ominion and Steamboat Inn and the family of Lil Maxwell. This year\, Y oung at Art will be juried by Tracy Lawlor\, education director at th e William Benton Museum of Art.
\n\n The exhibition encourages the u se of art to advance learning in the region&rsquo\;s schools and is part o f Mystic Arts Center&rsquo\;s commitment to fostering creativity in the co mmunity while bringing families together in a community space.
