DESCRIPTION:<p>\n	 </p>\n<p>\n	A local group of young illustrators have ban
 ded together for an exhibition of modern illustration techniques. When man
 y people hear the word “illustration”\, they envision traditional methods 
 like pencil drawings and watercolor. For this group of diverse artists\, a
 ll mediums are fair game. This exhibition features a mix of techniques inc
 luding digital art\, 3-D sculptures\, cut paper\, collage\, mixed media\, 
 as well as traditional watercolor\, acrylic\, and oil illustrations.</p>\n
 <p>\n	The show is free and runs from February 21- April 3\, 2013 with an o
 pening reception on Thursday\, March 7th from 5-7pm at the Madison Arts Ci
 nema\, Madison\, Connecticut.</p>\n<p>\n	Artists featured: Dan Cogan\, Lau
 ren Coulter\, Kate Decusati\, Alex DeFranzo\, Kevin Klakouski\, Dominique 
 Monroe\, Wendy Natter\, Mildred Paulino and Emily Petrillo.<br />\n	 </p>
 <p>\n	<strong>About the Illustrators</strong></p>\n<p>\n	<u>Dan Cogan</u><
 /p>\n<p>\n	Dan’s energetic use of acrylic and watercolor plus his unique p
 erspective verily explode on canvas and paper. He is currently working on 
 illustrating a children’s adventure story that he wrote.</p>\n<p>\n	<u>Lau
 ren Coulter</u></p>\n<p>\n	Lauren’s fondness for steam punk and figural dr
 awing have inspired her to develop her own graphic novel in that genre. Sh
 e is currently working on character development and illustrations in digit
 al and watercolor for another children’s storybook project.</p>\n<p>\n	<u>
 Kate Decusati</u></p>\n<p>\n	Kate’s attention to detail and appreciation o
 f fantasy and video game art combined to forge a passion for fantastical d
 igital illustration. She is currently working on digital illustrations for
  a self-written graphic novel.</p>\n<p>\n	<u>Alex DeFranzo</u></p>\n<p>\n	
 Balancing two diverse worlds\, Alex utilizes his iPad to create thoroughly
  modern digital art as well as spending hours picking away with tiny brush
 es at traditional trompe l’oil paintings.</p>\n<p>\n	<u>Kevin Klakouski</u
 ></p>\n<p>\n	Kevin is a three dimensional artist. He has experimented in c
 ut paper sculpture and paper engineering as well as clay modeling. His cur
 rent project combines rich watercolor with cut paper design.</p>\n<p>\n	<u
 >Dominique Monroe</u></p>\n<p>\n	Dominique has been creating her own chara
 cters since she was a child. Seguing from her early work in Copic marker a
 nd watercolor illustrations to digital medium\, she now works mainly digit
 ally on conceptual designs for games and movies.</p>\n<p>\n	<u>Wendy Natte
 r</u></p>\n<p>\n	Wendy enjoys editorial illustration where she can use hum
 or to communicate and comment on social issues. She employs digital drawin
 g\, collage and cut paper\, as well as traditional medium to create her il
 lustrations and is also a plein air and portrait painter.</p>\n<p>\n	<u>Mi
 ldred Paulino</u></p>\n<p>\n	Mildred has ventured from her customary style
  of creating gentle and serene watercolor children’s book illustrations to
  experimenting with bold\, vibrant\, celebrity portraits in acrylic paint.
 </p>\n<p>\n	<u>Emily Petrillo</u></p>\n<p>\n	Emily’s methodical yet whimsi
 cal style has surfaced in a series of lively mixed media theater posters. 
 She is also producing a series of wire and watercolor illustrations for a 
 children’s book.</p>\n<p>\n	<strong>About the Madison Arts Cinema</strong>
 </p>\n<p>\n	The Madison Art Cinemas provides a highly personalized movie-g
 oing experience. The Madison Art Cinemas plays first-run independent art a
 nd upscale foreign and domestic films. It is used as a center for communit
 y activity with many local organizations using the theatre for fundraisers
