\n MxCC is hosting a free conference\, Empower ment Through Education: a Women&rsquo\;s Forum\, on Friday\, April 5\, fro m 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in Chapman Hall on the Middletown campus.
\n\n The conference will incorporate film\, keynote address\, and a series of workshops to help women move forward. \; Although it is called a women students forum\, the event is open to both female and ma le students\, as well as members from the community.
\n\n This \;forum is targeted to the special needs of women students\, and will focus on issues related to careers\, balancing work/parenting/sch ool\, wellness\, essential job skills\, personal finance\, dressing for su ccess\, and healthy relationships. \;
\n\n The key note speaker\, Gina Barreca\, writer\, humorist\, and University of Connec ticut professor of English Literature and Feminist Theory\, will inspire a nd provide best-practices for women learning and getting ahead in today&rs quo\;s society.
