Jul 8, 2014 to Aug 26, 2014
1:00 pm until 1:45 pm
This event occurs weekly on Tuesday.
This program helps caregivers and young children discover art together in the Museum. Listen to a story and then explore line, shape, color, and other elements of art with teaching artist Margaret Freedman. Margaret has a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and teaches at the Noah Webster House, here at the New Britain Museum of American Art, and in pre-K through 8th grade classrooms of the Waterbury School District. She combines literacy with various artistic media and develops innovative programs that enhance the young child’s experience here at the Museum. This program develops visual and verbal literacy skills with active reading, close looking at a single work of art, and a related art project.
Resumes on Saturdays 11-11:45 a.m. in September.
