Some people bead as a creative outlet, while others bead to connect to their ancestral past, and some find beading meditative. Regardless of the reason, craft creators join Jeremy Sebastian (Mashantucket Pequot) on Sept. 7 to learn how to make a beaded dream catcher. Candyce Testa (Pequot) teaches Comanche Weave earrings on Oct. 5 and on Nov.16 she demonstrates how to bead a needle case. Crafters gain inspiration from other participants during this monthly event, so others are encouraged to bring in their completed projects to admire. Basic materials are provided, and guests are also welcome to use their own.
This event is limited to 15 guests, ages 11 and older. Sessions are $25, $15 for Museum members. Call (800) 411-9671 or email firstname.lastname@example.org at least one day before each session to register.
