1:30 pm until 3:00 pm
On Sunday, September 15 from 1:30 - 3 p.m. at Windsor Historical Society, celebrate the 226th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution. Co-sponsored by the Society, the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead, and the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution, our Constitution Celebration! will be a festive, fun, and free public event for families. We will have Constitution crossword puzzles, word finds, and trivia questions along with a showing of the Schoolhouse Rocks! America videos. Try using a quill pen and ink to write the Preamble – just as the founding fathers would have in 1787. At 3 p.m. the gathering will move to the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead at 778 Palisado Avenue for a group reading of the Constitution and light refreshments. Come learn about our nation’s founding document on Sunday so you can impress all your school classmates and friends on Tuesday, September 17th, the actual 226th anniversary of the Constitution’s signing.
