Finnish Traditional Music at Finnish American Heritage Society in Canterbury, CT
On June 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saul Ahola, fiddler and FAHS member and two master teachers, Christine Anderson and John Chambers, will present a program at the Finnish Hall (76 N. Canterbury Road / Route 169, Canterbury, CT 06331) that will include many types of Finnish music. The trio was awarded a grant by The Southern New England Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and supported by the Institute for Community Research and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. FAHS folk dancers and a singer will also be part of the entertainment. There is no charge for this event and light refreshments will be served following the performance.
