Inheriting the Impressionist Tradition
Jun 5, 2013 to Jul 31, 2013
12:00 pm until 4:00 pm
This event occurs weekly on Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Greenwich Historical Society will celebrate the work of local artists Maria C. Friscia, Perry Robinson, MD and Margaret Esmé Simon in a Community Artists exhibition entitled Inheriting the Impressionist Tradition. With still life paintings and landscapes rendered in colorful painterly strokes, the work represents a modern reflection on the American Impressionism that evolved at the Cos Cob art colony early in the last century. Notes show organizer Carol Dixon, “The artists have put together a show that is in sync with both the season and the artistic legacy of Bush-Holley Historic Site.” The exhibition will run Wednesday through Sunday from June 5 through July 31, 2013, with an opening reception on June 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
