"Is The Curtain Lifting on North Korea?"

Description

The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’Roundtable series dinner presentation by Evans J.R. Revere on "Is the Curtain Lifting on North Korea?”. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on May 15, 2013.

In 2007, he retired after a long and distinguished career as an American diplomat and one of the U.S. Department of State’s leading Asia experts, with a special focus on Korea, China and Japan. Mr. Revere also served as Acting Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (2004-2005), managing U.S. relations with the Asia-Pacific region and leading an organization of 950 American diplomats and some 2,500 Foreign Service National employees.

 

He was also Deputy of Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul (2000 - 2003) and served as Chargė d'Affaires at the embassy during most of 2001. His diplomatic career included service in China, Taiwan, and Japan - and extensive experience in negotiations with North Korea.

The cost for the dinner and presentation is free for AR series members and $105 for the general public. The cost for guests of AR members is $95. The event will start at 6:15 P.M. with a cash bar followed by the dinner/presentation at 7:00 P.M.
