The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable Series breakfast presentation by Sarah Chayes on "Kleptocracy-The International Security Implications of Acute Corruption”. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on September 11, 2013.
Sarah Chayes is a Senior Associate, Democracy & Rule of Law Program, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Author, The Punishment of Virtue: Inside Afghanistan After the Taliban. Ms. Chayes is an expert in South Asia policy, kleptocracy and anticorruption, and civil-military relations. A former reporter and special adviser to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, she is working on correlations between acute public corruption and the rise of militant extremism.
