Curatorial Assistant Michael Forino will present an illustrated lecture about Waterbury landmark, Holy Land, USA. Opened in 1958, the 18 acre-theme park, which has been closed since 1984, was constructed from cinder blocks, old bathtubs, and other discards and represents a miniature Jerusalem and Bethlehem. In the 1960s and 1970s it was one of Connecticut’s biggest tourist attractions with nearly 50,000 visitors a year. RSVP by 5/3 by calling 203.753.0381, ext. 10.
