"Reconfiguring The Middle East"

Description

The World Affairs Forum will hold the Wilbur Miller Annual Meeting and Dinner for members and guests at the Sheraton Hotel in Stamford on June 6, 2013. The keynote speaker will be Ambassador Sallama Shaker, Former Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, who will present on “Reconfiguring the Middle East”.

 

Ambassador Sallama Shaker was the first woman Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Americas in the history of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to that, she was Egypt's ambassador to Canada. Shaker has held several other positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Deputy Minister for North and Latin America, Advisor to the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs on Egyptian/American Relations and NATO, First Secretary at the office of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, and attaché at the Soviet Desk within the ministry. In addition, from 1985-1990, Dr. Shaker served as the Consul General at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, D.C. 

 

The cost for the dinner and presentation is $80 for members and $90 for guests. The meeting will start at 6:00 P.M. followed by the dinner/presentation at 7:00 P.M.
