Shore Walk at Compo Beach with Harbor Watch Associate Director Pete Fraboni
Jul 20, 2013
Summer is a wonderful time of the year to explore the intertidal area at the seashore. Discover the fascinating world of marine invertebrate creatures, which are often overlooked by the casual beach goer, and learn how these critters are able to survive the rigorous conditions where the land meets the shore. During low tide we will be on the lookout for life among the rocks and in the tidal pools where crabs, mussels, grass shrimps and others abound! Wear footgear that can get wet (old sneakers work well) to protect feet from barnacles and other sharp objects and dress for the weather.
*There is limited seating in the van for non-resident participants. To reserve your transportation to the shore, please pre-register by calling Earthplace at 203-227-7253.
