New Luxury Guesthouse Tall Tales Sprouts up at Saybrook Point Inn & Spa

The original plan was for the new, six-room boutique “beach house” in Old Saybrook to be a bit more diminutive than the elegant Three Stories next door. But flood elevations kept rising, necessitating engineering changes that resulted in a taller-than-expected building.

Description

'The Art of Escape' ~ A Group Exhibition

Troy Fine Art is most pleased to announceThe Art of Escape, our latest group exhibition of works featuring select gallery artists: Richard Bruce, Greg Gustafon, R.J. Itcher, and Frank Riccio. Featuring both realistic and abstract landscapes, the exhibition will reflect unique forms of solitude and escape through painting, pastel and fine art photography and capture a variety of geographic locations.

The atmospheric fine art photography of Richard Bruce immediately transports the viewer into a dreamlike landscapes. His acrylic on panel paintings mimic the stabilizing force of the horizon Hudson Valley. Conveying his passion for abstract impressionism and studied spontaneity, the stylized, color-saturated landscapes of R.J. Itcher include elements from regions of the United States and abroad and are created in pastel, abstract oil and acrylics on linen. Greg Gustafon’s works reflect his observations of the Northern Mississippi landscapes, where sparseness and flatness are transformed into dynamic compositions on his oil canvases. Offering and artistic analysis of the surrounding area, Frank Riccio’s body of pastels features small-scale seascapes of the local Southport area

The opening reception will take place Friday, May 3rd from 6:00 to 8:30p.m. and displayed through June 3rd. Business Hours: In your home or office, by appointment.
