WHS Presents “Celebrating 300 Years of Connecticut’s Remarkable Women”
Mar 6, 2014
12:00 pm until 1:30 pm
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Westport Historical Society and Catamount Wealth Management will host a special luncheon program by the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame (the Hall). On Thursday, March 6, from Noon-1:30 p.m., at the Westport Historical Society (25 Avery Place in Westport), Katherine Wiltshire, executive director of the Hall will present “Celebrating 300 Years of Connecticut’s Remarkable Women.”
An interactive multi-media program, the Hall’s “Celebrating 300 Years of Connecticut’s Remarkable Women” is designed to inspire as it explores the stories of well-known figures such as Ella Grasso, Katharine Hepburn, and Marian Anderson as well as lesser known heroines like Maria Sanchez, Barbara McClintock, and Hannah Watson. Founded in 1994 in Hartford, Connecticut, the Women’s Hall of Fame fills the void that traditional curricula still fail to address and today stands as the state’s premier source for women’s history. Celebrating 300 Years of Connecticut’s Remarkable Women” is just one presentation available through the Hall’s “Talks on the Road” program. Groups looking to engage with Connecticut Women’s History can learn more at www.cwht.org.
Reservations required, please call 203-222-1424.
