Description

Women's Center Annual 4k SafeWalk

The Women’s Center will hold its seventh annual SafeWalk on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Danbury Fair. SafeWalk is our premier event to unite the community in our mission to end domestic violence and raise much needed funds to support our programs and services. In addition to the Walk, the event will feature our annual memorial tribute to honor victims of domestic violence in our own community as well as entertainment, food and activities for all ages.

Honoring Men in the Movement.

Domestic violence is on the rise in our community and the number of individuals we serve is increasing. Domestic violence destroys families in our communities, and can cause affected children to lash out and hurt others – or develop a pattern of violence that will be inflicted upon future generations to come. The Women’s Center provides FREE and confidential services to prevent or lessen the trauma associated with domestic violence, sexual assault and other major life crises. We serve 13 towns within the greater Danbury and New Milford areas and annually respond to the needs of over 26,000 women, men and children in these communities.
