On Dec. 1, 2018, in Newtown, the Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation held a gala with the theme of Imagining a Kinder World to raise funds for the design and construction of the future Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, to be located in Newtown. Catherine was a 6-year-old student who lost her life at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.
