DRS. MICHAEL ARONOW, ROSS BENTHIEN and RAYMOND SULLIVAN offer consultation for the full-spectrum of foot and ankle conditions and related treatments for patients of all ages. They offer care throughout the Greater Hartford area, and provide on-site imaging, physical therapy and orthotics. They perform surgery at the state-of-art Bone and Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital as well as the Orthopedic Associates Surgery Centers. They recently welcomed Dr. Thomas McDonald, who previously practiced in Springfield, to the foot and ankle team.

Dr. Aronow graduated from Harvard College and the Harvard Medical School-Massachusetts Institute of Technology Health Sciences & Technology program. He completed his orthopedic residency and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and foot and ankle surgery fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center/Harborview Medical Center. He is the current Connecticut Orthopaedic Society President. His expertise includes arthritis, bunions, hammertoes, flatfeet, diabetic feet, tendon disorders, fractures, and sports injuries.

Dr. Benthien earned his medical degree with honors from the George Washington University School of Medicine. Following orthopedic training at the University of Connecticut, he completed two Baltimore-based fellowships in foot and ankle surgery. He treats sports and traumatic injuries including fractures, Achilles tendon disorders, bunions, and arthritis of the foot and ankle, and he has a particular interest in ankle replacement surgery and minimally invasive (MIS) bunion surgery. He performs the most MIS bunion and toe procedures in the Greater Hartford area - procedures developed to minimize post-operative pain and swelling and preserve motion.

Dr. Sullivan graduated from Brown University and Georgetown University Medical School. He did his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in pediatric foot and ankle surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and adult foot and ankle surgery at the Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. He offers comprehensive care of all pediatric and adult foot and ankle conditions. He is the Foot and Ankle Service Line Leader at the Bone and Joint Institute.
