A new exhibition featuring the work of reclaimed wood artist, Kirsten Fischler, opens October 20, 2019, with an Artist Reception between 2-4 PM at the JW Frame Gallery in South Glastonbury, CT. "Following the Patterns" features Kirsten's latest works and will be on display until November 16, 2019.
When i t comes to describing her work, Fischler states, "I create, I destroy, I recreate." For over thirty years, Kirsten Fischler has been an artist who straddles between the confines of " fine" and "rough" art, working in mixed media with a primary focus on collected, post-construction waste. The beauty of Fischler' s work lies in how she takes seemingly mundane materials like plywood, chipboard, furniture parts, even wood chopsticks, and transforms each piece into a truly unique style of "rustic refinement”. Kirsten Fischler currently works and resides in the historic town of Salem, MA.
