Shop for fresh produce, meat, eggs and handcrafted items at the West End Farmer's Market throughout the summer and fall. The market is located at 385 Farmington Avenue, Hartford on the grounds of Clemens Place. It is open Tuesdays from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, June through September, and 3:00 to 6:00 pm in October. The market accepts cash, credit, debit and EBT/SNAP payments. Look for special events, such as musical performances, face painting, story telling, yoga, etc. to enhance your experience.
The West End Farmers’ Market aims to make farm-grown and local food accessible to West End and Asylum Hill neighborhoods of Hartford through partnerships with Connecticut farmers, businesses, and nonprofit agencies. To help with accessibility, the market offers doubling of SNAP benefits to its clients.
Last season, the market was able to bring in over 5,500 shoppers. Market Manager, Joey Abad, believes it has the potential to do more, and even expand. “When we think of farmers’ markets in Connecticut, a handful come to mind. But this market is special: our community is so diverse, and as a result, we have created an ecosystem that is in tune with its neighbors and vibrant culture.”
