A monthly look at what’s new and exciting on the Connecticut dining scene

Kokomo's, Old Lyme

Located at Sound View Beach, this waterside restaurant offers seafood, sandwiches and craft beer and specialty drinks. It occupies the space that was formerly home to Lenny’s on the Beach. Images posted to social media of the venue’s lobster roll had our mouths watering.

Tablao Wine Bar, Ridgefield

Popular South Norwalk tapas restaurant and wine bar Tablao has opened a second location in Ridgefield. We loved the South Norwalk location during our 2016 visit, impressed with the smoked sausage, hanger steak, paella and other dishes. We can’t wait to try the Ridgefield location.

Gruel Britannia, Fairfield

Gourmet and classic English specialties are the name of the game at this new takeout spot from longtime caterer and chef Karen Hubrich. Open for breakfast and lunch, its offerings include items like the Coronation chicken salad, served on cranberry raisin walnut bread, and the Winston Churchill, grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, cheddar, tomato, roasted garlic herb aioli served on a brioche roll.
